The permanent magnet synchronous motor direct-drive traction machine is commonly known as a gearless drive. It is installed in the elevator machine room or elevator shaft, usually above the top floor of a building or inside the shaft, and serves as the power device for the elevator. The permanent magnet synchronous traction machine is driven directly by the host machine with a rope wheel and does not have a gearbox.
